Legal basis

PCA operates on the basis of the Act of Parliament of 13 April 2016 on conformity assessment systems and market surveillance, Regulation (EC) No 765/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 July 2008 setting out the requirements for accreditation and market surveillance relating to the marketing of products and repealing Regulation (EEC) No 339/93, PN-EN ISO/IEC 17011 standard „Conformity assessment — Requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies” and in line with the obligations arising from the signed multilateral agreements: EA MLA, ILAC MRA, IAF MLA.

In the field of accreditation of EMAS verifiers, PCA operates in accordance with requirements set out in Regulation No. 1221/2009 and the guidelines of the Forum of Accreditation and Licensing Bodies.
